Washington public works, contractor by contractor
Type a contractor's name or UBI number. 1,323,967 intents filed since 2001 by 44,822 contractors, on the projects of 2,925 public agencies.
Bidding, hiring a subcontractor or checking a competitor? A dated public works report ($19) on one contractor — or an agency's awards, every month.
What this is
On every public works project in Washington State, each employer — the prime contractor and every subcontractor — files a statement of intent to pay prevailing wages with the Department of Labor & Industries. The state publishes these filings as one large file. This site turns it into two things you can read: a record per contractor (the agencies it worked for, its latest contracts, prime or sub) and a page per public agency (its latest contracts and who won them).
Who uses it
- Contractors — your own public works record as others see it, and a competitor's or a subcontractor's before a bid.
- Public agencies and estimators — who has worked for comparable agencies, and on what.
- Suppliers and sureties — which contractors are active on public work, and for whom.
What it is not
Not L&I, and not a record of work completed: an intent is filed before the work. Amounts are shown as declared and never added up; project addresses are not published. How to read the records.
